1st GOLD IN SOCHI WINTER OLYMPICS

Sage Kotsenburg has claimed the first Gold Medal of the Winter
Olympic Games at Sochi. Kotsenburg
won the men's slopestyle snowboarding competition. Staale Sandbech of Norway won the Silver, while Canadian Mark took the bronze.
Shortly later, Marit Bjoergen became Norway's most successful female Olympian
by taking the cross-country skiathlon. It was her fourth Olympic Gold medal,
surpassing legendary figure skater Sonja Henie. Bjoergen won the race which
combines 7.5 kilometre in classic style and 7.5 kilometre in freestyle.
Sweden's Charlotte Kalla was second with Heidi Weng of Norway taking the
bronze.
