RAWAT TO BE NEW CHIEF MINSTER OF UTTRARAKHAND
Senior Congress Leader Harish Rawat becomes the 8th Chief Minister of
Uttarakhand today. The Governor Dr. Aziz
Qureshi administered him oath of office at Rajbhawan along with 11
cabinet colleagues. Earlier Rawat’s name was finalised in a Congress
Legislative Party meeting held in Dehradun in the presence of central party
observers - Ambika Soni, Janardan Dwevdi and Gulam Nabi Azad with party MLAs of
the State. It may be recalled that Vijay Bahuguna yesterday resigned as
Uttarakhand Chief Minister.
