India
have retained the Under-19 Asia Cup Cricket title. In the final played at
Sharjah today, they beat arch rivals Pakistan by a convincing margin of 40
runs. Set to score 315 runs for a win, Pakistan managed to score only 274 for
nine in the stipulated 50 overs.
Indian skipper VH Zol and star batsman Sanju Samson made centuries for the
winning team while Pakistan’s Kamran Ghulam’s century went in vain.

of eight wickets in the 50 overs. Openers gave a breezy start with Bains making
a quick fire 47. But it was the pair of skipper VH Zol and Sanju Samson who
steered India cross the 275 run mark. Zol smashed 100 off 119 deliveries while
Sanju Samson played a whirlwind knock of 100 in just deliveries. In reply, Pakistan
put up a spirited fight after losing four wickets as Sami Aslam and Kamran
Ghulam steadied the innings. But after the departure of Sami Aslam, Pakistan
innings folded at 274 for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs.
The New Year seems to have begun on a perfect note for the future stars of
