GORAKHPUR RAILWAY STATION ENTERS LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS
FOR WORLD’S LONGEST PLATFORM

The platform number one of Gorakhpur railway station in Uttar Pradesh has been entered in Limca Book of Records as longest rail platform in the world. The certificate given by the Limca Book of Records was unveiled today. 

The length of platform is 1,355.40 metres. The new platform was inaugurated on Oct 06, last year. Earlier, the platform of Kharagpur railway station in West Bengal having 1,072.5 m length had the distinction of being world’s longest platform.
