REHMAN TO RECEIVE FIRST CENTENARY FILM AWARD AT IFFI
Legendary actress
Waheeda Rehman will be honoured with the inaugural Centenary Award for Indian
Film Personality of the Year at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI)
in Goa on 20th November.
Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman will be
conferred Centenary Award for the Indian Film Personality of the Year 2013 at
the International Film Festival of India in Goa on Wednesday. The award is
being given in recognition of her immense contribution to the film industry.
Rehman has been selected unanimously by a five-member jury.
Rehman was given Padma Shri in 1972 and the Padma Bhushan in 2011.
Indian cinema celebrated it's centenary on 3rd May this year, 100 years after
the release of the first film 'Raja Harishchandra' by Dadasaheb Phalke in 1913.
The Government of India has instituted the award to
commemorate 100 years of Indian Cinema.
The award carries a citation, a
certificate, a medal (silver peacock), a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
